36,000 S.F. Lease At 53 State Signed

FactSet Research Systems Inc., a provider of financial information and analytical applications to the investment community, has signed a 36,119-square-foot lease at 53 State St. in Boston’s Financial District.

FactSet will relocate to the sixth floor of 53 State St., which is also known as Exchange Place, from 1 Federal St.

Richards Barry Joyce & Partners (RBJ), a Boston-based commercial real estate advisory firm, represented the landlord, Brookfield Properties. RBJ is the exclusive leasing agent for 53 State St. FactSet was represented by DTZ FHO Partners.

According to research by Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, the financial district in Downtown Boston consists of 33,447,000 square feet of office space and is 9.8 percent vacant, as of the quarter ended Dec. 31.
