Outdoor decks with skyline views and dog play areas are popular amenities in new luxury apartment and condominium developments. A 440-unit tower scheduled to open this fall in Boston puts the two together.

Among the three outdoor amenity spaces at the Hub50House tower on Causeway Street is a fourth-floor dog recreation area. Developer Boston Properties calls it the “woof deck.”

“People with pets socialize with people with pets,” said Sue Hawkes, managing director of The Collaborative Cos., the leasing agent. “Whether it’s yappy hours at hotels or other condo and apartments, we saw an opportunity to create a social side for the owners when their pets are playing.”

The 38-story tower at The Hub on Causeway development also will include a resident roof deck equipped with four grills, a firepit and outdoor TVs, and a 15th-floor terrace with swimming pool.

The Collaborative Cos. recently opened a sales center at 100 Causeway St. to market the 440 units. Prices start at $2,300 a month for “metro” units, which are less than 400 square feet, and range up to over $10,000 for three-bedroom penthouses.

The building will have internal access to the city’s largest supermarket, a 60,000-square-foot Star Market, similar to the private entrance to Whole Foods Market in South End for Ink Block residents. Tenants also will receive access to the members-only Rafters party deck overlooking the TD Garden opening this fall.
