Barstow Village, a 66-unit affordable housing development for the elderly, opened this week in Hanover.
“Barstow Village has been a truly collaborative project that would not have been possible without our strong partnership with the Planning Office [for Urban Affairs] and the great support of the town of Hanover and the Patrick-Murray Administration,” Matthew Mittelstadt, managing director of EA Fish Development, said in a statement. “We are proud to have played a role in the development of such a unique community.”
The Planning Office for Urban Affairs is a social justice ministry affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston.
Located on a wooded 6.6-acre parcel owned by the Hanover Housing Authority, the new residential development features 66 units of elderly housing with 77 parking spaces.
The development includes support services and programs for residents that promote independent living, and also offers a community room with a full kitchen for activities and entertaining, laundry facilities, an outdoor patio for socializing and community space.
