A fixture in the Boston-area commercial real estate scene is jumping brokerages.

Michael Joyce, formerly vice chair of Cushman & Wakefield’s Boston leasing practice, is joining CBRE, the latter company announced. He lands there as a vice chairman, which CBRE described in its announcement as “the highest rank for Advisory & Transaction professionals within the company.”

Joyce will be based in CBRE’s downtown Boston office and will focus on both investor and occupier leasing.

“With more than 25 years in commercial real estate, Mike brings a wealth of experience to our office leasing team,” Michael Affronti, executive managing director for CBRE’s Greater Boston advisory services business, said in a statement. “Mike is an office and industrial leasing powerhouse with strong relationships from his decades-long career. He will partner with our capital markets team to leverage those relationships, while mentoring and growing our urban leasing team.”

This will be Joyce’s second stint at CBRE, where he worked before co-founding the firm Richards Barry Joyce in 2001. The firm was acquired by Transwestern in 2013, where he remained as partner for five years before joining Cushman & Wakefield.

At Cushman & Wakefield, Joyce had represented many notable tenants including footwear firm PUMA in its Assembly Row headquarters lease and the Boston Celtics as they looked to relocate their practice facility in a search that saw them ultimately settle on Boston Landing.
