The charitable foundation of Framingham Co-operative Bank has donated $6,000 to St. Bridget School in Framingham to support a mobile wireless computer lab.
The proposed lab will be for teachers and students in the sixth through eighth grades. The school currently operates a stand-alone, desktop computer lab shared among students in grades 2 through 8.
The foundation’s gift will be used toward the purchase of wireless, portable Netbooks solely for use by the school’s 85 students in the higher grades.
The award to St. Bridget School was included in the total of $34,700 awarded to support community initiatives in the foundation’s most recent round of funding.
Since it was established in 1998, the foundation has donated more than $1.6 million to charitable causes.
