Springfield’s Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. (MassMutual) recently worked with the Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity to build a new home for a local family at 161 Albemarle St. in Springfield.

MassMutual’s employees contributed more than 2,000 volunteer hours on the project over the course of 22 volunteer days to help complete the home for the Pagan-Roldan family, according to a statement. This will be Habitat for Humanity’s 42nd house in the Springfield area.

MassMutual and its subsidiary, Babson Capital Management LLC, also provided more than $100,000 to fund the project.

"This project was a great opportunity for our company and employees to give back to our community by helping to make a local family’s dream come true with a home of their own," said Roger Crandall, president and CEO, MassMutual. "MassMutual is very proud to offer both financial and volunteer support for this project and we wish the Pagan-Roldan family all the best in their new home."

The Pagan-Roldan family also qualified for a free $50,000 life insurance policy as part of MassMutual’s LifeBridge program, which provides free term life insurance to income-eligible working families across the country, according to a statement.
