Realty Development Assoc., a modular-home builder based in Sagamore, has plans to open a second showroom in Norton this spring to coincide with the company’s 20-year anniversary.

The new location at 312 Taunton Ave. in Norton is scheduled to open in May, the company said. Realty Development currently operates a 6,600-square-foot model and sales office in Sagamore.

Continued growth in modular construction has led to the company’s decision to expand, according to Don Shulman, president of Realty Development Assoc.

"We are very optimistic about what 2009 and 2010 holds in store here in Massachusetts for the housing market," said Shulman, adding, "Modular construction is a very appealing option for homeowners."

The new Norton location will be modular construction, just as the Sagamore location is. The 3000-square-foot building will serve as a model home, and will be will be delivered in packages to the Norton site and assembled by Realty Development Associates.
