Chicopee Bancorp, the holding company for Chicopee Savings Bank, has reported a net loss for the three months ended Dec. 31 of $139,000, compared to net income of $107,000 for the same three-month period in 2007, a drop of almost 230 percent.

For 2008, net income fell to just $22,000, compared to $1.6 million in 2007.

The decrease in net income for 2008 is "primarily due to a loss on securities available-for-sale of $57,000 compared to a gain of $835,000 in 2007," the company said.
