EYP Architecture & Engineering, which has a presence in Boston, has been named among Architect Magazine’s top firms.
In addition to being named 22nd in the annual list, the New York-based company also placed second on the list of top green design firms.
Companies included in The Architect 50 were determined by a variety of factors, including profitability, ecological commitment, design quality, number of employees, and number of awards won in the past year.
Instead of ranking based solely on financials, the magazine’s goal was to "recognize ecological commitment and design quality as much as profitability when measuring the country’s very best architecture, A/E, and AEC firms."
"We are extremely proud to be included once again in The Architect 50 ranking. We are also thrilled to place second on the list of top green design firms, as sustainability is of utmost importance to our clients and an integral element of our practice," said EYP President and CEO Tom Birdsey. "This year, we have implemented numerous sustainability programs, including EYP/Planet, our in-house initiative designed to establish a quantitative baseline to inform and measure EYP’s sustainable day-to-day business practices."
