Irish tenor Ronan Tynan has become a resident of the South Shore, buying an $840,000 home in Scituate late last month.

The home is at 128 Clapp Road and was bought from Richard and Gina Brown, according to data provided by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman.

The 4,060-square-foot cape-style home was bought by the Browns in 2003, the year it was built, for $245,000. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home sits on a 72,000-square-foot lot and was last assessed at $903,400

Tynan, who moved to Boston after being shunned by the New York Yankees, sold his 28 Atlantic Ave. condo for $890,000 in mid-July.

Tynan, one of the "Irish Tenors," famously sang "God Bless America" during baseball games at Yankee Stadium. After an incident in which he was accused of making an anti-Semitic remark to a potential neighbor, the Yankees dumped him.

Shortly thereafter he moved to Boston. According to Warren Group data, Tynan also owns a home in Milton, which he purchased last year.
