Newburyport Five Cents Savings To Open Two New Hampshire Branches

Bazata Will Lead Commercial Divisions In N.H.

Newburyport Five Cents Savings will open its first of two Portsmouth, N.H. locations at 254 State St. in May. The bank has hired Jerry A. Bazata to lead the bank’s commercial lending and business banking functions within the Portsmouth, N.H. market, as vice president, commercial banking officer.

"[Bazata] is a talented banker with extensive experience in commercial real estate lending and small business banking. He is a proven strategic thinker and a strong addition to our commercial leadership team," Janice C. Morse, president and CEO of Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, said in a statement.

Prior to joining Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, Bazata was vice president, senior client manager for Bank of America’s Portsmouth office. He has also held management positions with TD Bank, Peoples United Bank and M&T Bank.

Bazata received his bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.
