A Cambridge life science company has selected TRIA architects to transform 39,000 square feet in a downtown Boston office tower into “efficient and collaborative” workspace with an industrial accent.

Ironwood Pharmaceuticals is moving to 100 Summer St. in the fourth quarter after leasing 39,000 square feet in the 1 million-square-foot tower.

The new offices will be highlighted by exposed ceilings, columns and concrete floors, along with wood finishes and earth-tone color schemes. The offices will include a mix of open-format office space, a library, huddle rooms, phone rooms and conference rooms. Plans include a multi-use cafe area, coffee bar and locker rooms with showers. Graphics will highlight the company’s treatments for gastrointestinal conditions.

Members of the project team include Lee Kennedy Co., WB Engineers, Cushman & Wakefield and Red Thread.
