In addition to a prominent affordable housing project proposed for Jamaica Plain, the Boston Planning & Development Agency board approved several projects and changes to projects at its Nov. 14 meeting.

Allston Square

Location: Intersection of Cambridge Street and Harvard Avenue, Allston

244 condominiums and 100 apartments including 45 affordable units, over six buildings and 351,500 square feet

Project seeks to rehabilitate two historic buildings and build four new ones around a key intersection in Allston. Amenities will include significant bicycle storage, a coworking space and a gym.

Seaport Square

Details:
The BPDA Board approved a notice of project change that lets WS Development swap a planned 350,000 square feet of residential space and 72,000 square feet of retail/entertainment space for 384,000 square feet of office or research space and 38,000 square feet of retail/entertainment space. In exchange, WS will pay an additional $1 million to a fund set up to support a Seaport performing arts center, and has promised to pay the amount when construction starts, instead of when construction finishes.

Winthrop Square

Since receiving BPDA board approval in 2018, Millennium asked the city to OK shrinking the building from 1.65 million square feet to 1.54 million, shrinking the saleable residential space in the tower by about 40,000 square feet to 582,714 square feet due to changes in its design, increase the office component of the tower by 22,000 square feet to 772,442 square feet and shrinking the underground parking space by one level, to four, in response to abutter concerns about the area’s stability.

350 Boylston St.

Druker originally received BPDA approval for its proposal to replace several depressed retail buildings at the corner of Arlington and Boylston streets with a 9-story office/retail building in 2009. Due to difficulties caused by the Great Recession, the project never began construction. Earlier this year, Druker filed a notice of project change that asked for the project to be re-approved so it could be restarted.

99-105 Fairmount Ave.

Location: 99-105 Fairmount Ave., Hyde Park
Size:
47 apartments and 2 retail spaces across 49,950 square feet

DiSipio Building Group
Details:
DiSipio proposed a 4-story mixed use building for a site next to the Fairmount commuter rail stop that currently contains four two-family homes the company built in 2004. Amenities will include a roof deck and bicycle parking.
