Bay Coast Bank has put $10,000 toward the Westport River Watershed Alliance’s summer internship program.

The Fall River-based bank recently opened its newest branch in Westport. "We look forward to being an integral part of the Westport community," bank President and CEO Nicholas Christ said in a statement.

Bay Coast’s investment allowed the alliance to hire two interns, both biology students at UMass Dartmouth, this summer.

Bay Coast was formerly known as Citizens Union Savings Bank.
