Blue Hills Bank has hired Jonathan “Jono” Sexton as vice president and senior loan officer to spearhead its lending division’s expansion into the Cambridge area. Sexton will lead the bank’s new lending office in Cambridge.

Sexton has spent the last 25 years working in the Cambridge area at LLC & Hunneman Mortgage Corp. and New England Moves Mortgage as vice president and senior loan officer. He began his banking career with BayBank Middlesex after graduating from Colby College and quickly moved into mortgage origination with Independence One Mortgage Corp.

“Our residential lending team has grown exponentially over the last five years,” Bob Driscoll, senior vice president, residential and consumer lending, said in a statement. “Jono’s lending expertise and deep roots in the Cambridge area will be an asset as we work to expand our geographic footprint into Cambridge and beyond.”
