The Martha’s Vineyard property formerly owned by the late Walter Cronkite, best known as the anchorman for "CBS Evening News," has been sold for $11.3 million.
The property, located on 40 Green Hollow Road in Edgartown, was sold to Karen L. Brush, according to records obtained by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman. Linda J. Wank, executor under Cronkite’s will, sold the 4,330-square foot home last month.
The Edgartown property, built in 1910, was last assessed for $10.5 million. Cronkite purchased the six-bedroom, 4.5-bath colonial-style home in January 1990.
Cronkite, who reported on everything from the Vietnam War to the Nuremburg trials, was well-known for his departing catchphrase "And that’s the way it is."
