A husband-and-wife team that operates a commercial kitchen in Somerville’s Union Square will bring a restaurant and shared culinary workspace to the new Graphic Lofts development in Charlestown.
Foundation Kitchen leased 5,723 square feet for the ground-floor space in the 171-unit apartment complex, built by Boston-based Berkeley Investments at the former Graphic Arts Finishers property.
Owned by Ciaran Nagle and Tara Novak, Foundation Kitchen will include a cafe, wine bar and food stalls scheduled and is scheduled to open in early 2021. They plan to use the space for cooking classes, events and culinary popups at a shared kitchen, Berkeley Investments announced.
The couple owns a commercial kitchen in Somerville’s Union Square and will offer space at Foundation Kitchen for small food vendors for production. Reflecting increased demand for takeout during COVID-19, Foundation Kitchen plans a substantial grab-and-go selection including make-at-home meal kits.
Eastern Land Company’s Stephen Pleines represented Foundation Kitchen in the lease negotiations, while Boston Realty Advisors’ Joe Wagner represented Berkeley Investments.
