In this week’s roundup of Community Good Works, banks and credit unions contribute to their communities by volunteering their time and donating funds.

Naveo Credit Union

Naveo Credit Union of Somerville raised $1,500 for Boston Children’s Hospital’s Miracle Jeans Day initiative. This initiative funds medical research for the hospital’s patients. Naveo matched every employee donation and participated in this effort for the eight year in a row.

Beverly Bank

Beverly Bank donated $2,500 to the Beverly Education Foundation Inc., a nonprofit that supports Beverly’s public school system. The donation will support the nonprofit’s efforts to enrich educational, artistic and community development.

Bank of America

Bank of America employee volunteers helped build a condominium in Dorchester with Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston last week. Massachusetts Bank of America branch employees volunteered at five different Massachusetts Habitat for Humanity affiliates on six builds from Oct. 2 to 5.
