Multifamily investor Aker Communities will continue updates to apartments in a Coolidge Corner mid-rise complex following a $70 million acquisition.
The Beacon, New York firm acquired Pelham Hall Apartments, which includes 148 apartments. The purchase price equates to nearly $473,000 per unit.
The seller was New York-based Fairstead, which paid $74 million for the Brookline property in 2020.
Built in 1926, the 9-story Georgian Revival-style building includes 14,601 square feet of retail space on Beacon Street across from Trader Joe’s grocery.
CBRE’s Simon Butler, Biria St. John, John McLaughlin and Brian Bowler represented the seller and marketed the property. CBRE’s John Kelly arranged financing for Aker.
Interiors of more than a quarter of the apartments have been updated to compete with new construction, and Aker plans to continue the renovation program along with common area upgrades, CBRE said.
