Cox Engineering plans to expand its HVAC and mechanical contracting work in eastern Massachusetts following the acquisition of a Weymouth-based contractor.
The Randolph-based firm acquired US Air Conditioning-Heating Inc., which specializes in HVAC services. The acquisition enhances the 98-year-old family-owned firm’s capabilities working with large-scale HVAC equipment, CEO Jon Desmond said in a statement. The firm was founded in 1914 as a sheet metal contractor, and is affiliated with a pair of sibling companies, Cambridgeport Custom and Cambridgeport Air Systems.
Cox Engineering’s recent projects include work at Boynton Yards in Somerville and 109 Brookline Ave. in Boston.
Founded in 2004, USAir services local clients including Northeastern University and UMass Medical Center.
