The Dartmouth Co. of Boston has been selected to market 4,500 square feet of future retail space at the Boston Public Library.

As part of an $80-million renovation of the library designed by William Rawn Assoc. architects of Boston, an interactive retail space is being created. The library is accepting requests for proposals through May 11.

The library selected The Dartmouth Co. to distribute the RFP to real estate brokers, organizations and retailers that may be interested in the space, which will include outdoor entrances on Boylston and Exeter streets and an interior library entrance. A temporary banner also has been installed on the entrance of the Johnson building, which will reopen next year.
