Asset management veteran Paul Dawson of Needham has been named director of asset management for The Grossman Cos., based in Quincy.
In the newly-created position, Dawson is working closely with the company’s acquisitions, brokerage and property management teams, as well as third-party brokerage firms, the company said in a statement.
Jake Grossman, head of acquisitions/finance, said the company is "well-capitalized and positioned to acquire value-added opportunities."
He said the company expects to buy more than 500,000 square feet of commercial property by year-end.
A graduate of Boston Architectural College and a licensed architect, Dawson earned his master’s in real estate development at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Previous positions include: asset manager at Crosspoint Associates; senior project manager/director of asset management at Transit Realty Associates; director of asset management at Charter Capital Management. Inc.; vice president of development at Eclipse Partners LLC; project manager with Leggatt McCall Retirement Properties LLC; project management with HMFH Architects in Cambridge and Willowbend Development in Mashpee.
