A real estate developer that specializes in industrial acquisitions has relocated to a new headquarters space in a Framingham property it acquired earlier this year.

Calare Properties Inc., which had been based in Hudson for 14 years, acquired the 40,500-square-foot office building at 30 Speen St. in February, and will occupy part of the building while marketing other portions via brokerage JLL.

Formerly occupied by American Cancer Society offices, the building has highway frontage on the Massachusetts Turnpike and underwent a recent renovation with open floor plans and 9-foot ceilings.

“This move signifies a new chapter in our history and celebrates all we have accomplished during our 14 years in Hudson,” Bill Manley, CEO and CIO of Calare, said in a statement. “Our new Framingham location provides an ideal new home that supports our growing real estate investment platform and, most importantly, the needs of our employees.”

Calare has acquired over 18.5 million square feet of warehouse, manufacturing, R&D and flex/office properties representing $850 million in transactions since its founding in 2003.
