Natick-based Eastern Insurance Group LLC has acquired Quincy-based insurance agency James J. Sullivan.
“We are excited to welcome James J. Sullivan and its customers to Eastern Insurance,” President and CEO of Eastern Insurance Hope A. Aldrich said in a statement. “The Sullivan agency is well-known for its superior customer service and products, making it a perfect fit for our growing organization.”
James J. Sullivan was founded in 1956 by Jim Sullivan. Its current principals are Sullivan and Sherry Wood. Following the merger, Sullivan will remain with Eastern Insurance, serving in a sales role as well as maintaining relationships with his largest clients.
“We are proud of what we have built in providing the best insurance protection for the people and businesses of Quincy and nearby communities,” said Sullivan said in a statement. “Eastern Insurance will serve our clients and employees extremely well.”
Eastern Insurance is one of the largest insurance agencies headquartered in Massachusetts and the 48th largest agency in the United States.
