A group of Boston-area students are picking up tips on real estate investment and paths to a potential career in the industry through a summer program sponsored by The Fallon Co. and Street2Ivy.

The real estate entrepreneurship program, which launched this week at Wentworth Institute of Technology for 18 students from Boston and the surrounding area, is designed to help youths from underserved communities pursue business careers.

“Street2Ivy believes that entrepreneurship is a crucial path to combat the income and wealth disparities that plague underserved communities. Our mission is to empower aspiring entrepreneurs to create and innovate by offering the information, mentorship and tools they need to achieve economic empowerment,” founder Tavares Brewington said in a statement.

Designed to build a more diverse pipeline of real estate professionals, the program for students ages 16 through 19 covers real estate fundamentals and business practices, financial modeling, investment analysis and entrepreneurship.

The program began this week in classroom space provided by Wentworth, and will include tours of Fallon’s properties in Boston and guest lectures by local executives including Clayton Turnbull, CEO of The Waldwin Group.

Property manager Street2Ivy also sponsors an online academy, programs pairing young people with industry professionals and an e-commerce platform for young entrepreneurs.
