Quang Joseph Nguyen, a former Boston attorney, pleaded guilty earlier this week in federal court to mortgage fraud in connection with several properties located in Quincy and Hyde Park.

Nguyen, 35, pleaded guilty to one count of bank fraud in connection with his 2004 purchase of a property in Quincy, according to the Massachusetts Department of Justice. He also pleaded guilty to six counts of wire fraud in connection with the 2005 transfer and fraudulent financing of three additional properties in Quincy and Hyde Park. Nguyen acted as closing attorney for all of the mortgage financing transactions, which totaled more than $3 million.

Nguyen, a disbarred Massachusetts attorney and former principal of Dorchester law firm Nguyen & Assoc., faces up to 30 years imprisonment on the bank fraud count and up to 20 years imprisonment on each of the wire fraud counts, to be followed by three years of supervised release.
