Minot A. Frye, former senior executive in the financial services and real estate industries, has been appointed president and CEO of E/CON Building Systems, a designer and developer of low-energy commercial housing.
E/CON Building Systems is an affiliate of Newburyport-based EGA Architects.
"EGA has earned a reputation as an innovator in senior living design," said EGA Chairman Charles Griffin. "Our association with E/CON enables us to actively advance innovations in energy efficiency."
In a statement, Frye said E/CON hopes to appeal to mainstream commercial housing market.
"What we seek to provide is a ‘triple play’ – a conventional-looking house, with a very competitive price and very low energy consumption," he said.
E/CON also sources debt and equity financing for low energy housing projects.
