- Vantage Builders has completed the build-out of the first New England location for Breakout Games, a provider of “escape room” entertainment venues.
- Groups of friends, family or coworkers are locked in a room and challenged to follow clues and solve puzzles based upon story lines ranging from “Museum Heist” to “Island Escape;” solving the mystery allows them to unlock the door.
- The 2,500-square-foot renovated space designed by Newton-based architects Form + Place provides game players with four escape scenarios. The project included interior demolition of the space previously used for corporate offices and removal of flooring to leave bare concrete in the “Hostage Room,” while luxury vinyl tile was installed in the “Museum Heist” room and lobby.
- New electrical power was installed to support cameras, lighting, audio-visual equipment and strobe lights.
“Breakout Games is such a creative concept and they have a terrific entrepreneurial spirit, which we appreciate. This project was part retail, part office and part theater. I should point out that while we built out the location, we were not involved is setting up the scenarios. So don’t call us for clues!” — John Connor, principal, Vantage Builders
