Brookline-based Kaplan Construction has been recognized with two national “Excellence in Construction” awards by the Associated Builders and Contractors for its work on the Revolution Hotel in Boston.
Kaplan renovated guest rooms, bathrooms and common areas to convert a former hostel into an urban boutique hotel. Throughout the 7-story, 77,000-square-foot building, Kaplan upgraded many interior features of the existing building, including energy-efficient windows, amenity areas and a lobby which showcases custom concrete flooring and a custom mural. Exterior work included a full roof replacement and improvements to the private courtyard. Kaplan also performed a full fit-out to accommodate a basement bar, lounge, and fitness room.
The EIC awards program is the industry’s leading competition that honors both general and specialty contractors for innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects.
Additional project team members included Prellwitz Chilinski Assoc., WaypointKLA, C3 Engineers, H.W. Moore Assoc., Roome & Gurracino and Breen & Sullivan Mechanical Services.
They Said It:
“We are striving to provide affordable yet extremely attractive accommodations, and Kaplan worked closely with us to keep our project within budget. They delivered efficient service with enthusiasm.”
