Arlington-based Leader Bank is set to open a new loan office in Mashpee as the bank seeks to expand residential lending operations in the Cape Cod area.

The $4 billion-asset bank will open the new branch at 13 Steeple St. in Mashpee on Sept. 27 with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“With the addition of our newest lending team, we are incredibly excited to bring our innovative lending solutions to residents of Cape Cod,” Jay Tuli, president of Leader Bank, said in a statement. “Leader Bank prioritizes delivering a world-class service experience in helping our clients achieve their homeownership goals, and our Cape Cod lending team passionately shares these values.”

The lending team in the new branch is experienced in Cape Cod’s mortgage and homebuying landscapes including loan officers Meryl Watson, Lauren Robert and Kareem Sanjaghi.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Cape Cod team to Leader Bank’s Residential Lending operation and look forward to expanding our innovative lending solutions to better serve homebuyers across the Commonwealth,” Sean Valiton, Leader Bank’s senior vice president of sales and new business, said in a statement. “We look forward to officially welcoming our new neighbors on Cape Cod at our ribbon-cutting ceremony.”

Leader Bank currently has nine mortgage offices across Massachusetts.

According to data from The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman, Leader Bank ranked 12th in Barnstable County by volume of residential purchase and refinance loans last year, with 116 loans of all types worth $64.13 million. The market is dominated by Cape Cod Five, which commanded 18.59 percent of the residential lending market on the Cape, by loan volume, as of Aug. 31 of this year.

The new mortgage office is Leader’s second significant growth move this month, after establishing an innovation banking unit two weeks ago by hiring away a key First Republic banker.
