Medford-based Delta Design & Construction has been awarded a $1.7 million construction and renovation project at Oak Meadow Montessori School in Littleton.

The project will involve the addition of a 7,000-square-foot arts center and gymnasium. The increased space will allow for a greatly expanded arts, music and physical education program for the children, according to a Delta Design statement.

The fast track project will break ground in early March and will be completed in about 24 weeks. This project is largely funded by a fundraiser initiated by the parents of Oak Meadow students. Seitz Architects is in charge of design for the project
