Lt. Gov. Timothy P. MurrayLt. Gov. Timothy P. Murray will be honored for his work with the Interagency Council on Housing and Homelessness (ICHH) by the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance on Sept. 20 at the Homecoming 2010: Honoring Achievements in Ending Chronic Homelessness breakfast in Worcester.

This event will also honor others who have engaged in regional initiatives to end homelessness that were established by the ICHH in 2008, according to a statement. ICHH Chairman Murray will be honored for his leadership of the Patrick-Murray administration’s statewide plan to end homelessness. Regional leaders being recognized include Lowell City Manager Bernard F. Lynch of the Merrimack Valley Regional Network, Department of Mental Health Area Housing Coordinator David Modzelewski of the Western Massachusetts Network, and Worcester City Manager Michael V. O’Brien of the Worcester County Regional Network.

Murray will be receiving the William Lloyd Garrison Partner in Abolitionism Award and each regional leader will receive a Public Innovator Award.

"I sincerely appreciate this distinction and honor, but most importantly thank all those who tirelessly work on this issue every day," said Murray. "Together, we can continue to collaborate in our efforts to end homelessness and create economic security and prosperity for individuals and families across the Commonwealth."
