The average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage in the state fell to 4.73 last week from 4.78 percent the week prior, according to online mortgage tracker Zillow.
Nationwide, the average rate last week was 4.69 percent, a decrease from 4.75 percent the week prior.
New York and Tennessee posted the highest mortgage rates at 4.83 percent and 4.8 percent, respectively.
The country’s lowest mortgage rates were in Texas and Minnesota, at 4.62 percent and 4.64 percent, respectively.
