Newton’s The Village Bank plans to move its corporate office from Auburndale to a building on the Newton-Needham line.
The bank will lease roughly half the 40,000-square-foot building at 320 Needham St. in Newton Upper Falls, which is owned by an affiliate of The Bulfinch Cos. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
The move will bring together all non-retail staff, including the bank’s loan center, under one roof. The bank’s corporate offices are currently located at 307 Auburn St. in the city’s Auburndale neighborhood.
“We’re excited to expand our presence in this vibrant area in the city of Newton, which has been our home base for more than a century,” TVB President and CEO Joseph A. De Vito said in a statement. “Our new facility will help us increase efficiency, collaboration and enhance our efforts to provide the best possible service to our valued customers.”
Slated to open by the end of 2019, the new corporate office will house approximately 80 employees. The bank’s branch locations will remain unchanged. TVB, chartered by the state in 1910, has seven full-service offices in Newton and Wayland and a loan center in Auburndale.
