The Protestant Guild for Human Services, a nonprofit that provides educational and vocational day and residential programs for individuals with mild to severe intellectual disabilities, has received a $14 million MassDevelopment bond for a new headquarters.
The Guild, which currently leases a headquarters in Waltham, is using the funds to buy a 60,250-square-foot building on 5.2 acres in Concord.
The Guild will also use bond proceeds to renovate the building’s roof, bathrooms, elevators and HVAC system, install a kitchen and purchase kitchen items, furniture, security and telephone systems.
Additionally, The Guild will use bond proceeds to refinance previous debt, which financed the purchase and renovation of the organization’s group homes. The organization expects the project to create 40 jobs and support 30 construction jobs. Belmont Savings Bank purchased the bond.
