Connecticut-based People’s United Bank has opened three new branches in the Boston area, employing approximately 20 people.
The branches are located at: 218 Cambridge St. and 176 Federal St., both in Boston, and at 46 Bedford St. in Lexington.
"We now have a total of 59 locations in Massachusetts," said Tim Crimmins, president of the Massachusetts region for People’s United Bank. "We have doubled the size of our Massachusetts franchise since the first of the year and look forward to bringing the People’s United customer-driven brand to additional Boston area residents."
The two Boston branches are opening today, while the Lexington office opened July 1.
Bradley Nichols will be the financial services manager for the two new Boston branches. Nichols joins People’s United from Citizens Bank, where he managed the bank’s branches in Randolph. Prior to joining Citizens Bank, Nichols was with Sovereign/Santander, where he managed that bank’s Cohasset branch. He began his banking career at Citibank.
Lejla Basic, who currently serves People’s United as customer service manager in the bank’s Milk Street branch, will also assume responsibility as customer service manager for the Federal Street office. Jeffrey O’Connor will serve as customer service manager for the Cambridge Street branch. O’Connor comes to People’s United from Danversbank.
Veronica Caira will serve as financial services manager for the Lexington office. She also joins People’s United from Danversbank.
The new offices are the result of People’s United’s acquisition of Danvers Bancorp. Danversbank had planned to open these branches when the transaction was announced in January.
