Shire Pharmaceuticals has paid $200 million to purchase four buildings in Lexington, according to published reports.

The Boston Globe reports that Shire purchased the 435,000 square feet of lab space at the former Raytheon campus along Route 2. The space is in a technology park owned by Patriot Partners LLC.

It is reportedly the biggest sale ever in the local life sciences sector.
