The renovation of Shire HGT’s 17,000-square-foot office at 185 Alewife Brook Parkway has been awarded LEED Gold status by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Some of the various environmental efficiencies created during the renovations include automated window screens that filter sunlight and minimize heat gain in rooms, decreasing the energy expended to cool spaces; new air handling systems; high efficiency/low-flow plumbing fixtures; and low mercury lighting.
