Mark K. Shriver, senior vice president of U.S. programs for Save the Children and brother of former California first lady and journalist Maria Shriver, has bought a $1.8 million house in Hyannis.

Shriver and wife Jeanne R. Shriver bought the 70 Longwood Ave. home in late July from George R. Frick and Lucille F. Cornish, according to records provided by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman.

According to the records, the home was owned by the John M. Cornish Trust, which purchased the property in 1988 for $1. Its value was last assessed at $1.3 million.

Shriver is the son of Peace Corps founder Sargent Shriver and Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of President John F. Kennedy, U.S. Sen. Robert Kennedy and former U. S. Sen. Edward Kennedy.
