The Mashpee Wampanoag tribe plans to release more details of a proposed resort casino in Taunton.
The tribe announced in February it had secured an option to purchase land in the city and later asked Gov. Deval Patrick to begin negotiations on a possible casino compact.
On Thursday, representatives are scheduled to provide new information about the scope of the project, a timeframe for construction and estimates of how many jobs might be created.
The new law allowing for up to three resort casinos in Massachusetts gives exclusive rights to a federally-recognized Indian tribe to develop a casino in the southeastern part of the state — if a compact is reached by July 31.
The Aquinnah Wampanoag tribe is also eyeing a casino and has secured options on land in Freetown and Lakeville.
