Two workers were injured when a pipe ruptured this morning at the steam plant that provides heating to many downtown Boston commercial properties.
The Boston Fire Department said both workers were transported to the hospital by city paramedics.
The two-alarm incident forced firefighters to shut of the flow of natural gas to the plant in order to isolate the steam leak, the department tweeted.
The incident occurred at 9:45 a.m. It was not immediately apparent when the plant would resume operations.
