Stamford, Connecticut-based Webster Bank has named Ann Meade as its regional president for the Boston market.

Meade is also the bank’s managing director of commercial lending for middle market banking in the Greater Boston market. In her new role as regional president, Meade will expand her focus to the entire Webster team in Boston and will coordinate Webster’s business and community affairs activities, Webster Bank said in a statement.

“Ann is a well-respected seasoned banker and has been an integral part of Webster’s success in the Boston market for 13 years,” Chris Motl, Webster’s president of commercial banking, said in the statement. “In addition to being highly skilled in developing new business relationships, under Ann’s leadership, Webster will also continue to be an important partner in the communities we serve throughout Greater Boston. Her industry knowledge and broad network will ensure our continued success in the region.”

Meade joined Webster Bank in 2010 as senior vice president of commercial lending, where she provided working capital; acquisition, buy-out, equipment and real estate financing; and treasury management and other banking services to family-owned and publicly held companies. She has experience working with professional service firms, manufacturers, wholesalers and not-for-profit organizations, the statement said.

Before joining Webster, Meade spent two decades as senior vice president of commercial lending at Citizens Bank in Boston and vice president of commercial banking at the former Fleet Bank in Boston.

“It is an honor and a privilege to lead an incredibly talented and dedicated team at Webster Bank,” Meade said in the statement. “I have lived and worked in Boston for more than three decades and feel a deep connection to this community and the businesses that make it thrive. I am excited about the opportunity to build on the already strong foundation that Webster Bank has with businesses in Massachusetts and help both the bank and the clients we serve continue to grow and succeed.”

Meade is on the board of directors for Boston Senior Home Care and the corporate advisory council for The Women’s Edge.

Webster Bank has $64 billion in assets and branches in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island.
