100 Cummings CenterPump manufacturer Xylem Inc. has leased 39,000 square feet of office, lab and manufacturing space at 100 Cummings Center in Beverly. The space formerly occupied by Microsoft is now the headquarters for the water technology company’s flow control business.

A spinoff from ITT Corp., Xylem designs and manufactures pumps of all sorts, from those found in restaurant soda fountain machines to bilge pumps on commercial fishing boats. Xylem worked with Jamie McManus, leasing officer for Cummings Properties, on the transaction. The new Cummings Center site consolidates offices previously located in Gloucester and Woburn.

"We believe our new facility at Cummings Center will help us attract the best talent and ensure that we continue to deliver unequaled support and service to our global customers," said John Sullivan, vice president of finance at Xylem, in a statement.

Xylem’s move comes on the heels of American Renal Assoc.’s signing for 49,000 square feet at 500 Cummings Center, another property at the North Shore office and technology park.
